“I’ve had many handheld game / music units over the years, but I really love the iPod Touch. Yes it only holds 8 gig of music - but its gaming abilities far more than make up for that!
First, the MP3 side. We already own 60 gig iPods so they hold “all our music”. I admit it is very nice knowing your entire library is there with you, including all your audiobooks, so that no matter what you want to show to someone or listen to, it’s all there. Still, with 8 gig in this unit you get at least a fair portion of your library available. So you can have a few stories to listen to, a bunch of your favorite songs and then a collection of photos as well to show off.
What makes this great is that songs are just ONE part of what this unit does. It is a FANTASTIC gaming system. You can go online very easily with its built-in wireless and download literally thousands of games. Most are free! Some are a tiny cost - maybe $2 or $3. The games are quite addictive and fun. I can name several off the top of my head that I play for hours. What makes them great is that the iTouch has a built in motion sensor. So you can tilt, twist, and spin your way through the games. Plus the screen is (obviously) touch sensitive! There are lots of games that you play through subtle touches. You can even play drums and keyboards!
There are many mail hook-ins so that you can get your mail and keep in touch with friends and family on the go. They have access to Google maps so that you can figure out where you’re going. There are calculators. Notepads. Contact lists. You can have your entire world organized and there.
I’ve been playing with this for many months now and really don’t have any complaints about it. I wish it’d give you more warning when it was running low on battery without interrupting what you were doing. The connector pins are slightly different from other units, but all my chargers work fine with it and I haven’t run into anything I wanted to use with my iPod Touch that I could not use.

This is a really good product i love it but the only drawback is the battery it doesnt use 24 hours of playback like it says it last more along the lines of 3-4 hours of music if your just listening to music and around an hour and a half if your just watching movies and tv shows by JM

“I am a big tech nerd, and although I am a little disappointed that apple will be paying less attention to the classic ipod I bought one, and I really enjoy It!
I previously had a 30GB Video Ipod and It lasted me about 3 years. Its being repaired for a new battery now, but I figured I would upgrade since my library had grown.
Not much has changed to these new ones, except the interface a little. I love genius and I am stoked that it was worked into the functionality. It remains about the same size as my 5th generation? video and so still fits my old rubber case (which is nice).
Probably the best thing about it is, doing a comparison between my roommates 30GB ipod video and this one, I find that the audio quality on this one has improved quite a bit. I don’t know if its the connectors or maybe a d-a converter, but it definitely sounds better. I am a recording engineer so I might be a little more apt to hear it, but its cool.
Overall I am stoked about my new ipod. Its a great device! I will be sad to see apple move on to more of a multi-tool type device, but that doesn’t sway my review on this one. Enjoy!” by AB
“I have this new 120gb ipod and its great. I certainly wont run out of storage anytime soon, and by the time I do, hopefully they will have found a way to add better capacity to the iphone/touch. I considered the iphone because of all the bells and whistles but I just cant justify the expense with it having such a piddly capacity. Seriously Apple, why try to make a do-it-all device that cant actually hold it all? So for now, I use this for my music/video/photos and I couldnt be happier with it. The sound and picture quality is way better than my old one and I love the charcoal color of it. I havent had an issues at all with it.” by TA
